Festival Club at the Legion

WHEN

Friday
22:30 - 01:30

WHERE

For those who have been before, we have changed the format, less of a formal concert but lots of tunes, songs and the occasional special guest upstairs at the British Legion. Featuring many of the new and exciting young musicians in Scotland

10:45 - 11:30: Three Tree Tribe
11:45 - 12:30: Snuffbox
12:30 -  1:30: Trad Music Session

Snuffbox
Snuffbox are an acoustic trio based in Glasgow; comprised of BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2017 Charlie Stewart (Dosca, Sketch, Ross Miller and Charlie Stewart) on fiddle; Rufus Huggan (Routes String Quartet, Mick Edgar) on cello; and Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2018 finalist, Luc McNally (Dosca, Sketch, Eddie and Luc, Iona Fyfe) on guitar and vocals. Mixing Traditional tunes with contemporary flair, as well as quirky, original material, Snuffbox melds old and new to create entirely their own sound. Having released an album last year Snuffbox have since enjoyed playing a wide variety of venues, with recent highlights including performances at the Scots Fiddle Festival and the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2017
“Music with a great sense of spontaneity in its superbly varied dynamics, easy interchanging of melodic, harmonic and percussive roles, its often raw emotions and sheer character.”- The Times

Three Tree Tribe
The Three Tree Tribe are Ross Hull (fiddle), Tom Campbell (flute/whistle) and Cameron Grant (guitar). They are fresh to the scene as a trio but have been notable young musicians in the Scottish folk scene for a while as well as various individual trips abroad impressing audiences in countries like Amsterdam, Sweden and Spain. These guys
produce foot stomping sets of tunes with booming guitar groves and duelling flute/fiddle.
