Ally Forsyth is a traditional Scottish musician based in Glasgow. Having graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he is now working with some of the most talented and in-demand musicians in the country. In 2022 he embarked on an ambitious seasonal quartet of EPs, starting with the release of Spring and finishing with Leap Year in 2024.
In 2021 and as a product of lockdown, Ally released his debut EP, "The Longest Night". Playing all of the instruments, layering dozens of his vocals and writing much of the original music, the four tracks were brought to life by the careful ear of Scott Wood at Oak Ridge Studios.
Now taking on the role of producer and engineer, 2022 and 2023 saw the release of four EPs, each reflecting the influences of each season. These EPs featured some Scotlands best traditional musicians including Anna Massie, Hannah Rarity, Innes Watson and Josie Duncan. This resulted in being nominated for Original Work of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards and the opportunity the tour across the UK, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
