Fell Line are an award-winning Glasgow-based folk trio featuring Chloë Bryce (Lewis McLaughlin), Megan MacDonald (Eabhal, HEISK), and Calum McIlroy (BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2024). Hailing from Tain, Lairg, and Aberdeenshire respectively, they blend fiddle, accordion, guitar, and their voices to present an array of intricate tunes and delicate songs.
Off the back of winning Battle of the Folk Bands at Celtic Connections 2024, they went on to appear on festival stages across Scotland and beyond, including Blas Festival, Scots Fiddle Festival, and the National Celtic Festival of Australia.
After a period of performing under their own names, the trio reinvented themselves as Fell Line in December 2024 to coincide with the release of their debut single, Cannabeenie/Dark Days & Cauld Nichts. The name “Fell Line” is taken from a weaving term and refers to the many interlinking parts offered up by each of the three musicians. The debut single is the first of three taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, which is set to release in 2025.
“Beautifully intricate arrangements... If you get the chance to hear them live...go!”
